Over the course of an hour, Evan Barden and I try to teach the audience as much of a foreign language as possible. They learn how to navigate the NYC subway in a foreign language ("Sir, please put your pants back on." "Oh god, we're stopped again." and "What is that smell?"), how to heckle a comedian, how to tell a joke and sing a song. At the same time, we teach them all about what's unique and amazing about this particular language and why it's worth learning. Each month we bring in a new professional language teacher and a new cast of standups and sketch comics to help us out. October's language is JAPANESE. Tickets available through the Magnet Theater
